Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

There aren't enough words to express how happy I am that Autumn has arrived. As much as I love summer, I think Autumn has become my favourite season. I don't want this to sound like I've been wishing summer away, but we never truly get to experience summer in the UK like other countries. Unfortunately we can plan BBQ's in summer to find it randomly become freezing cold and the heavens open up and pour down with rain. When we want to take a trip to the seaside, we can end up in a thunder storm. It's just so unpredictable. However, when it comes to Autumn, the weather doesn't matter. If it's cold, I can snuggle up on the sofa in my favourite onesie, sipping from a large cup of hot chocolate. If it's a nice day, I can take a stroll through the village and watch as the leaves change colours on the trees. It's simply beautiful!

I thought it would be a good idea to share my 10 favourite things about Autumn with you all.

1: Hot chocolate.

I just love snuggling up on the sofa with my hands wrapped around a hot glass of hot chocolate. I've recently discovered the milky way magic stars hot chocolate. Of course, topping it with cream and more magic stars is totally optional. If you know anything about me, you just know it's a must in my household.

2: Apple Crumble

The apples always start falling off my apple tree at the start of September, so it's perfect time to pick them and make a delicious home made apple crumble. Topped with lashings of delicious custard. I'm not entirely sure what I love so much about apple crumble but it just reminds me of being at home with my family.

3: Beautiful trees

Walking through the village, I always start to notice the trees start to change colour at the start of September. It's such a beautiful moment when you watch the leaves start to fall and touch the ground. One of the first signs that Christmas is around the corner.

4: Onesies

You can never have enough onesies. I have two shelves in my wardrobe dedicated to onesies and I still find myself purchasing more every year. I would happily wear my onesie 24/7 if I could get away with it. They're so warm and cosy. Even now writing this post, I find myself googling "onesies" for more to purchase.

5: Fluffy socks

Although I tend to wear big fluffy socks all year round, I think it's more acceptable to wear them in Autumn. My favourite thing to do is to take a shower, slather my feet in Soap and Glory heel genius and pop on a pair of Fluffy socks.

6: Bubble Baths

I tend to have showers more than baths in the summer, so as soon as Autumn arrives, I get out my box of lush bath bombs and run myself a nice hot bath. It's so relaxing, and the perfect place to read a good book.

7: Fire

We have a huge fireplace and as soon as it gets a little colder, we know it's time to start lighting the fire. It can be so romantic to snuggle up in front of the fire, watching movies. (In my onesie, fluffy socks, and drinking my hot chocolate).

8: Mash potato

I have no idea how this made it into my Autumn list of favourites but it's true. My favourite thing to eat when it gets a little colder is Mash potato. Sometimes with chicken, veg and gravy. Others with beans and sausages. It's just so comforting.

9: Late night shopping

Ok so it's not really late night, it's just that it's turned dark earlier. Shopping in the dark reminds me of Christmas and you all know how obsessed I am with Christmas. As crazy as it is, I actually started my Christmas shopping yesterday!

10: Candles

How could I write a list of favourites without including Yankee candles? Autumn brings a whole new range of scents from Yankee and I get so excited to head into the shops and smell the new releases. I never leave without buying a jar or two, or three, or four.... Ok, yes, I'm obsessed!
