Have you noticed that as you get older, you begin to lose your
dreams? I remember being a kid and deciding I wanted to be a fairy after
seeing Peter Pan. My parents didn't tell me it was a stupid idea, they
bought me fairy wings and a wand and I became their little fairy. Of
course, I was fully aware that I wasn't actually a fairy but I believed
in my dreams and I made them come true. It seems as people get older,
they lose that little part of them that is so special. I don't know what
happens to us, but those amazing little quirks we have as children seem
to become a silly thing we used to do. I guess as you grow up you have
more responsibilities. That is no reason to lose grip of what you truly
want in life. We used to be fearless, we use to push the boundaries and
we pursued our dreams. What happened to us to lose such a special part
of our lives, that amazing part of us?
I see so
many friends in their same mundane jobs. They're not passionate about
what they do, in fact it isn't what they studied for. It's just
something that pays the bills. I wish I could make them realize that
there is so much more out there. Whether it means learning a new skill,
travelling the world, building a company, even starting a blog, don't
procrastinate anymore. We only get one life and it's way too valuable to
spend living a life you never wanted. One day it's going to all be
over, and will you be happy with where your life is? I've heard time and
time again that as you get old, you never regret the things you did.
You do however, regret the things you didn't do. You will wonder how
different your life would have been if you just took that step towards
your dream.
If there is only one thing you take from this post, let it be this...
Live your Dream. When it comes true, dream some more.
