Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour

I desperately needed to dye my hair so popped to my local grocery store (Tesco) to buy my regular hair dye. As was leaving, these boxes caught my eye and I figured I'd try it out and see how Garnier Olia works for me. I wasn't sure which shade to go for, so given it was on offer (2 for £11) I figured I may as well get two. I love my hair lighter in the summer months, but it was quite dark so I didn't want a really drastic change. I used the first box this morning so that I can give you a quick review on the product. Spoiler alert, I love it!

So when you open up the box, this is what's inside. Some black gloves, a mixing bottle, instructions, conditioner, colourant cream and developer cream. I don't know why but I got so excited about the black gloves and the mixing bottle. Easily impressed huh!

This is my before picture. It doesn't exactly match any of the sample colours on this box so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I hadn't actually read the bottom of the box at this point which says if you can't decide between two shades to always choose the lightest. I wish I had gone for the lighter colour of the two I purchased, but there's always next time.

The design of the box is cool too. It has a circle you can punch out which holds the mixing bottle whilst you add in the colour and developer cream. Gives you two hands free to squeeze every last bit out of them!

I'm assuming everyone knows the next few steps by now. If not, you remove the lid, squeeze tube 1 and 2 into the mixing bottle and shake!

Then simply, twist the top of the lid, pull and apply to your hair.

I left it on my hair for 30 mins before washing it out in the shower and applying the conditioner and here's my final result. It's not much different from my before picture so i'll definitely use the lighter shade next time and lighten it some more for summer. I'm one very happy customer Garnier!

A few other great points about this product. It doesn't contain ammonia. Doesn't smell bad like many other hair dyes! I was a bit dubious about the non drip velvety texture, but it definitely didn't drip. I didn't need to put a towel around my shoulders. I usually end up having to squeeze the mixer bottle to get the last drips of colour to cover my hair but Ganier definitely ensured that there was enough product in their tubes and with their mixing bottle, it's extremely easy to get the last few dribs and drabs out of the bottle. It's also easy to remove any dye you get onto your skin. No need to scrub for half an hour in the shower. Oh another plus, the crafty side of me won't let me through away the mixing bottle because I can think of so many uses for it. I'll have to make sure I was it out thoroughly first though :)

Thank you Garnier. You have a life long customer here!
