Learn about me

I found these questions on another blog here on blogger, and decided to go ahead and answer them so that you guys and girls could learn a little more about me.

Do you have a middle name?
Yes. It's Leanne. I used to hate my middle name, but I actually quite like it now.
What was your favourite subject in school?
French! Not so much that I liked the subject, but I loved my teacher and got away with so much.
What’s your favourite drink?
Alcoholic drink is Asti and non alcoholic has to be Ribena. I'm totally addicted.
Favourite song at the moment?

Marry me by Jason Derulo
What would you name your children?
I really have  no idea. It's not something I've even thought about which is weird since most girls think of that when they're really young.
Do you participate in any sports?
This answer is easy, NO! I do enjoy skiing if I go on holidays (to a ski resort, not somewhere sunny obviously, lol). Even then I ski for a bit and then get bored of it and find myself in a hot tub, or a bar somwhere.
Favourite Book?
Is it weird I don't even have one? Last book I read was 50 shades of grey. It's pretty bad I haven't picked up a book since!
Favourite Colour?

I've always said pink was my favourite colour and I guess that's true even today yet I barely wear it and not many things in my house are pink either.
Favourite Animal?

I have three, Penguin, Monkey and Koala! I really want a Koala.
Favourite perfume?

My all time favourite is Carolina Hererra 212 sexy. One of my best friends bought it for me years ago and i've been a fan ever since. I change my perfume regularly but that will always be my number 1.
Favourite holiday?
This is a tough one. I loved when I went to the dominican republic with my hubby. It was a lovely hotel, stunning beaches and the perfect holiday. I also loved Lapland when I went there but it was definitely a bit too cold. Was amazing seeing the northern lights and going on a midnight safari on snowmobile safari.

12. Have you graduated High School?
Yep! School wasn't my favourite time of my life but I left with good grades.
Have you been out of the Country?
Yeah. I've been to America quite a few times (Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, Las Vegas, New York), Dominican republic, Barbados, Lapland, France, Spain, Italy, Mallorca, Bulgaria, Belgium, Tunizia. I'm sure there are more too, I just can't remember.
Do you speak any other Languages?
I'm fluent in English and Welsh. I can understand French and Italian but i'm definitely not fluent!
Do you have any siblings?
I have three younger brothers.
What’s your favourite store?
My local garden centre because they stock Yankee and i'm a Yankee addict!
Favourite Restaurant?
Castellamare in Mumbles. Such an amazing view over the sea and the food is amazing.
Did you like school?
I didn't hate school but I can't say I loved it either. I turned up, did what I needed and left. I guess after I left school I learnt a lot about friends, who was fake, and it distorted my image of school. You usually learn your true friends in your 20's and I was learning that at 17/18 years old. It was tough but i'm so happy I did. I don't put up with s**t now, but yeah I found I had a lot of fake friends and that put a downer on my school experience looking back. At the time I was none the wiser though so it didn't affect me at school.
Favourite YouTubers?
My all time favourite has to be the Shaytards. They were the reason I decided to start blogging & making videos. They inspired me and I will be forever greatful. I then got into a bunch of other vloggers and youtubers, including ItsJudyTime, AnnaSaccone, Zoella & SprinkleofGlitter.
Favourite Movie?
Serendipity. I hope to go to the Serendipity restaurant in New York at some point

Favourite Tv show?

All time favourite tv show is going to have to be friends. It's the only thing I can watch over and over without getting bored.

Pc or Mac?

Pc. I was tempted to buy a Mac a few years ago but the thought of learning everything again really put me off.

What phone do you have?

Htc sensation. I really like the look of the sony xperia Z but the fact it's glass all around is a little daunting. I drop my phone regularly and my htc sensation has lasted. I guess i'll upgrade when the HTC sensation dies!

How tall are you?

I'm 5'3" / 5'4" yep I'm a short ass!
What do you order at Starbucks?

Nothing, haha. I don't drink tea and coffee so I don't go to starbucks. I guess if I was in there and HAD to order something it would probably be a hot chocolate or something cold.

One thing in your closet you cannot live without?

My black dress. I have more than one of the same because I know i'd be lost without it, i'm so anal that i'm prepared for losing it or it getting damaged for some reason.

What’s one thing most people probably don’t know about you?

I'm super loyal to my true friends. I learnt early who my true friends were so I now don't put up with any crap. I guess some people think i'm a bitch because I see through a lot of their s**t, but those people who take the time to get to know me, and who I let in will  know i'm super loyal. I'd do anything for them.

Name one thing you want to do before you die…

It's so weird I can't think of anything. Most things I come across and want to do, I go ahead and do.

What’s one food you cannot live without?

Chocolate. Is that lame?

What quote/phrase do you live by?

Reach for the moon, because even if you fail you will end up among the stars. This is so true in many ways.

What’s your most listened to song on itunes?

Marry me by Jason Derulo. I don't know why I'm just obsessed.

What kind of style would you define yourself as having?

I'm not the type of girl who buys a magazine and tries to copy somebody's style. I see things that I think would flatter my figure and I buy them. Recently I've found myself loving over sized tops and leggings.

Favourite number?

7. There really is no reason for it, I just randomly like the number 7. Which is weird since I'm so superstitious and only put the volume on the radio/ tv etc on even numbers.

Two Hobbies?

Crafting and photography. I'm a professional photographer (not that you would think that looking at half of my "phone" pictures on my blog) lol!

Two Pet Peeves?

People who pick or bite their nails  & people who lie.

Guilty Pleasures?

Chocolate! And yankee candles!

February Wishlist

Since I find so many things that I fall in love with and want throughout the month, I decided I would put together a wishlist. I'm going to do one every month, and will add to it as the month goes on. This way I can work out the things I really want, and treat myself at the end of the month to my favourites. If you know anything about me, you will know I'm an impulse buyer. I'm constantly finding myself with things I never use, or already have 50 of (that I had totally forgotten about). I randomly find these things in a draw, which I only discover because said draw doesn't close anymore! I'm hoping my wishlist will help me save some money and make my shopping splurges feel a little more rewarding, as I will have no doubt been talking about it for a month before I actually receive the item. Lets hope this works, and I can maybe take into account the things I really want, as opposed to the things that were cool for the whole 5 seconds I looked at them.

All items on my wishlist have been thoroughly thought out, and if at the end of the month I decide that I didn't really need that 100th pair of shoes, i'll make a note and pass on purchasing them.

Yesterday I did one of my regular random shopping hauls whilst browsing twitter. I had spent the morning reupholstering my headboard, and decided that my room really needed new bedding (of course the 3 sets of bedding I already have aren't quite enough). Whilst trawling the internet, I found an adorable duvet cover set. I'm totally in love with it. It's the Little Mistress Lilly duvet set in natural. It arrived this afternoon with their website address on (I purchased through a third party website), so I headed over to their website to discover they have the most amazing clothes range and I want so much of it! I picked out a couple of pieces to add to my wishlist, I really want them!

Wishlist item 1:

How beautiful is this dress! I can think of so many occasions this would be perfect for. A romantic meal, a dress for a wedding or a Christening, even a classy night out with the girls. I'm so in love! This dress is the Little Mistress Navy & Gold Embellished long sleeve fit & flare dress. by Little Mistress It's £58 and available in sizes 6 through to 18, and also in their curvy range from 18 to 24. I can totally see this dress being flattering for women of all shapes and sizes. I love the gold detail on the shoulder too, I would definitely have to team this up with some new gold shoes, which leads me on to my next item.

Wishlist item 2:

How am I not buying these heels already? They would go perfectly with the Little Mistress dress. They are gold and glittery yet not too "in your face". Teamed up with the dress above, these heels would be perfect for a special occasion! These are the Carvela Lara Sparkle heeled shoe by Asos. Currently reduced from £100 to £42. Why are they not in my shopping basket already? Argh!

Wishlist item 3:

Milkshake hair products! I'm so eager to test out the milk shake products after hearing amazing reviews from so many people. I'm gutted that they are currently supplying to wholesalers only as I would love to try them. I'm going to have to try and find a way to buy these items!

Wishlist item 4:
I would definitely team this bracelet with the Little Mistress dress. This is the Heart Christening bangle from TopShop at only £6.50. Bargain!

Wishlist item 5:

Miss Dior Original is definitely a scent I would love to wear with this outfit. Is it weird i'm already picking out a place to go wearing all of the above, yet I haven't bought any of it yet? It's strange how I can turn one dress I really want into needing to buy a full outfit with all accessories, but hey, you only live once! I smelt this perfume when I last went to Selfridges and  I totally fell in love. It's £77 for a 100ml bottle, which is a pretty good price for such an amazing scent.

I will update this post as and when I find new exciting items to add to my wishlist. This is it so far since today is the first day I'm restricting myself and waiting until the end of the month to pick out the things I really want. I hope you enjoy reading this, and I'd love to know what items would be on your wishlist?

Emjoi Micro Pedi & Soap & glory heel genius

I have neglected my feet lately and to be honest, I don't know why. I guess I've found other things to do just to avoid sorting them out, but with spring fast approaching I figured it was time to get my feet in order. I got the Emjoi micro pedi back in December when I found it on offer for £29.99 at Argos. I wasn't too sure if it was going to work out or not, since I've seen and heard mixed reviews so decided to give it a go myself. Since I'm obsessed with soap & glory, I teamed up this foot treatment with my heel genius lotion. Then for some weird reason I decided it would  be a good idea to blog about it! Now I know lots of people have done videos reviewing the micro pedi on youtube etc, but people telling me how well it works doesn't really show me (does that even make any sense?), so I decided to get my feet out and show the world! Argh, run away now if you don't like seeing feet, haha!

First off, I took a shower so that my feet were all clean. Then I placed an old towel over the bed so that I wouldn't get any dead skin on my bedding. I was going to do this in the bathroom, but there was nowhere to sit and I knew this would take me a while. So the instructions for the Emjoi micro pedi tell you not to put it on your skin for more than 2-3 seconds at a time. This is where I totally broke the rules. To be honest, unless you do this very regularly, I can't see 2-3 seconds giving you any results. I probably shouldn't condone following my rules since I'm sure Emjoi have that warning for a reason, but this is what worked for me.

So here are my feet before using the micro pedi. As you can see, cracked heels, and hard skin that definitely needs sorting out ready for my sandals come out of the wardrobe!

I used the micro pedi as long as it needed to remove the hard skin, so totally ignored their 2-3 seconds rule. I know, I'm bad but it worked out really well and my feet aren't sore or anything so I don't think it matters as long as you don't go crazy and damage yourself. Here is a picture where my left food has been micro pedi'd (lets make that a thing) and the right one hasn't so you can see the comparison.

Et voila, my feet are all soft! I popped a lot of the soap and glory heel genius lotion on, and then put some cotton socks on my feet. Now i'm ready to go about my day and let the lotion do it's work. I will post some update pictures tomorrow morning to show you exactly how it turned out!

Boots sampler gift set & voucher

My brother bought me this as a birthday gift, and it's just a perfect present! They do a version for both men and women, which means I have gift ideas for just about everybody sorted, haha. So you get this gift box, and when you open it up, you get 9 small perfume samples. You get to pick which one you prefer, and then take the gift voucher to your local Boots store to pick up your choice of perfume!

This is such a great idea. Instead of guessing what scent certain people would like, you can let them pick for themselves so you avoid that awkward situation where somebody hates their gift, or already has the perfume. I loved this! Do you ever find yourself in a store spraying so many different perfumes on yourself that you really have no idea which one you like? This gift box gave me the time to text out each perfume, decide which one I liked and then I went to pick up my 30ml bottle of my favourite. Mine was a toss up between Viva La Juicy, 212 and Boss Nuit. Since I already have Juicy and 212, I opted for the Hugo Boss perfume.

I really loved this gift, and I now have some samples which will be perfect for my purse, or for vacations and just general travelling. You will notice I'm missing one scent from the samplers, this is the Viva La Juicy which my Mum also loved, and since I already have the big bottle of that, I let her have the sampler :)

I'm keen to see which samplers you get inside the men's version so I will be purchasing one to find out when I next visit my local boots store. If you're on the search of the perfect gift for somebody special, this would be a great solution for you!

My Soap and Glory gifts & buys this weekend

This weekend I went for a trip back to Wales to spend the weekend with my family. I hadn't seen them since New Years and because they knew I was coming down, they made a little late birthday celebration for me. Most of my gifts had been posted up to me for my birthday but I had a surprise to see that there were even more gifts waiting for me at home. These included a bunch of soap and glory products! Some of which, I already had but it's always great to add even more to my collection.

I got three gift sets from the soap and glory range. Here they are!

The first gift box is the birthday box. I absolutely LOVE the packaging. It comes with a ribbon tied around, and you lift up the top (doesn't come off like a lid) but you just push it back down to cover it up again. Ok I really am useless at describing this! It reminds me of a Christmas cracker I guess :)  Inside the box I have the clean on me shower gel, the righteous butter body butter and a new pink shower puff. This is actually really great because I just threw out my old one as i'd had it so long!

The second box is the Christmas Yule Monty gift set. I already received one of these for Christmas, but I was still excited to get another. In this gift box you get the sugar crush body wash, the scrub of your life body scrub, peaches and clean face wash, hand food, heel genius, the righteous butter body butter, thick and fast mascara and extreme-plump lip gloss, and butter yourself body lotion.

The third gift box I received is the soap and glory bubble barrel. Inside it has a bunch of the travel sized bottles, which i'll be keeping for any trips I make. I love taking my soap and glory products everywhere, but since some have really big bottles, these are perfect. I also got the towelling headband that I haven't received before, so i'm excited! It also has a clean on me shower gel, hand food cream, scrub of your life body scrub, glad hair day shampoo, heel genius foot cream and righteous body butter.

After receiving these awesome gifts, I visited my local boots and decided it was time to try out the makeup range. I've already tried the plumping lipglosses and the mascara, so I bought the kick ass concealer, archery brow tint and precision shaping pencil and the kick ass pressed powder.

I used all 3 on a night out, but since I was in a rush I didn't get the chance to take pictures etc. I loved the concealer, need to get a little more practice with the brow pencil and I loved the pressed powder but was a little disappointed it didn't come with an applicator. I'm so used to my pressed powders coming with a brush, sponge or pad and this didn't have anything. A little annoying since I planned on throwing it into my bag for use on the go. It does however have an awesome mirror! I will update more on each product as I get to use them more.

Eylure Eyelash Haul

This post may not be to the taste of everyone, but I had such an amazing bargain this week, I just had to share. I have created a video about this haul, but haven't got around to editing it yet. Since shops change their stock and deals so regularly, I didn't want to wait any longer before letting you know about this bargain!

My haul was so unintentional. I actually went shopping to try and find a cheap mixing bowl. I popped to the local bargain store (B&M bargains) and I found these! I actually had no idea they even sold makeup or beauty products, so I was pleasantly surprised. Especially when I saw the price tag, only £1 each! I actually got that excited that I came home without a mixing bowl. I didn't get that far into the shop, I found the makeup and went a little crazy.

I have used eylure products so many times before, but never really used the pre-glue lashes. I wasn't sure how I would get on with them, but surprisingly enough, I find them easier to apply than the standard ones that come with glue. They do come with an additional glue strip which i'm guessing you can just add to them for future uses, but when I pulled them off, I stored them away and they were still fine and sticky enough a few days later. There wasn't much choice either, they only stocked number 190 and 191. Both are quite long, one a lot thicker than the other. I think they're more for a night out than an every day look. I rarely wear false lashes though, so this works out perfect for me.

If you use fake eyelashes and don't mind the pre-glued ones, you HAVE to stock up on these. I went a little crazy and bought all of the stock they had in my local store (I believe I picked up 15 or possibly 16 sets). I will be venturing out tomorrow to try and raid as many shops as I can to stock up. They are an absolute bargain. If you head out to buy these products, please let me know. I would love to hear what you think to the Eylure lashes too.

Whilst I was there, I stocked up on a few other makeup products. None of which I've used before, so I will post about them individually when I get round to using them. I got two Revlon nail polishes, a set of OPI pure lacquer nail apps, and a few little eye shadow palettes, also from Revlon. All of which were £1 each, apart from the OPI set. I don't usually use these stick on nail polishes, and I've never actually tried them, so once I've tested them i'll give you an update there too!

My Yankee candle haul!

I am so excited. I've been waiting for this package for what feels like FOREVER to arrive, although it was only 11 days. I ordered from an amazing website called Zulily and got all of the Yankee candles on offer! I got 10 yankee candles, 8 large and 2 medium all for £114.85 including delivery. It said on the website delivery can take between 10-14 days, so I was really excited to see it on  my door step today!

Zilily UK package
How big is this box? It's crazy. You wouldn't think it only had 10 yankee candles in it, but it does. Inside the huge box are another two boxes.

And then inside these boxes, the candles are packaged up so well! There is no way on earth any of them could possibly ever get damaged which was amazing. I have ordered Yankee Candles from Asda before and they've turned up smashed and i've had glass all over my house opening them! Very impressed Zulily!

And here are my gorgeous Yankee Candles! I got a bunch of scents:
Large Pineapple & Cilantro Candle Jar x 2
Medium Loves Me Candle Jar x 1
Large Garden Sweet Pea Candle Jar x 3
Large French Lavender Candle Jar x 1
Medium Summer Scoop Candle Jar x 1
Large Beach Flowers Candle Jar x 2

I also received this gorgeous Thank you card from Zulily!

With a really cute unicorn to colour in!

I am very happy with the service. From the discount Yankee Candles to the amazing delivery, I will most certainly be using Zulily again! If you want to get your hands on some cheap yankee candles, check out their website at http://www.zulily.co.uk/invite/nilla

Jelly Tot Temptation Cupcakes

Since I didn't get a Birthday cake yesterday, I decided I would do some baking and make  my own. One of my gifts was a "1000 cupcakes recipes" book, so I figured that would be perfect. I went to the celebration and party section and found a recipe for Jelly Tot temptation cupcakes. First off I checked quickly to see if I had the ingredients at home, since I did, I was ready to get started. I took pictures of the process so you can see how I got in. Although they don't look as good as the book, they do taste absolutely delicious! I couldn't help myself, I had to try one.

1000 cupcake recipes
The recipe was for 12 cupcakes, but since there are only two of us, I decided to half everything to make 6 cupcakes. It worked out pretty well! So here is what you need to make the cupcakes (for 6 cakes)

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup self raising flour
ingredients for the cupcakes

I actually read the instructions and it says to add the milk, but there was no milk in the ingredients section. It definitely needed some, so I added about 1/4 cup of milk too.

The first step is to preheat your oven to 180'c or 350F, then cream butter and sugar until it turns pale and fluffy with an electric wisk. Then you go ahead and add the egg and vanilla extract, followed by flour and milk!

When it looks something like the mixture above, spoon it equally into 6 paper cases (which will already be placed onto your cupcake tray).

Now it's time to pop these into the oven for 18-20 minutes. When you think they're done, pop a wooden skewer or toothpick into the top and if it comes out clear, they're ready!

Now its time to remove them and let them cool. Whilst they're cooling, you can prepare your frosting. This is what you will need:

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup icing sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tbsp milk (I found I needed a little more)
Jelly tots

Beat the butter with a whisk until soft, and then add icing sugar, vanilla and milk and mix until it's all combined.

Now it's time to decorate! Swirl your icing onto the cupcakes, and top them with a little jelly tot.

How cute are these? If you try them out, be sure to let me know how you get on :)

It's my Birthday!

It's my Birthday! Isn't it weird how some people get upset about getting older? I really don't mind it, I guess it's because I'm exactly where I want to be. I don't let opportunities pass by and sit there thinking "what if". If there's something I want to do with my life, I do it. I guess that's probably why i'm usually such a happy person. Anyway, lets get back to what's important, my Birthday :)

I've had an awesome day. It was pretty chilled out, I had a lay in this morning, got up around 11am and then did some work. Opened my cards and presents, and then just chilled out. I haven't really done anything special, since I went for a Birthday meal over the weekend at a delicious Chinese restaurant, and I won't be seeing my family for another couple of weeks so I'll celebrate with them then.

Here are a couple of the gifts I got today from my beautiful friends!

And of course my cards, I just LOVE the one I got from my parents, isn't it adorable?
My birthday cards
Birthday card from my parents
Yankee Candle - Baby Powder
I'm going to go to bed early tonight and treat myself to a "me day" tomorrow. I may even go spend my Birthday money  buying myself some goodies :)
